What is it worth to write a pattern? And what are customers prepared to pay? What are they paying for?
You can set your price exactly as you wish, but we have some pointers to think about when you decide on a price.
- If you set the price too high customers may be put off from buying the pattern. Lowering your price a little will hopefully encourage more sales and increase the total amount of money you make.
- If you set the prices too low, this can also have a negative effect, you may be lowering the expectations the customers have on the pattern. There is no reason to put your price too low just because you’re a beginner designer or ‘not a professional’, you have put a lot of work into the pattern and you deserve to be compensated for it.
- If you don’t know what price to set, look for similar patterns to use as a guide.
